New England

New England is made up of six states at the northeastern tip of the United States. The New England states are Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, along with the sparsely populated states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

New England is historically considered the cradle of the United States of America. It was in New England that the Puritans settled after arriving from England during the 17th century (the Mayflower landing at Plymouth). In these states, especially Massachusetts, the key processes of patriotism took place, and where the U.S. was born.

Today, New England is a huge tourist destination that includes important cities like Boston, vast nature reserves such as Acadia in Maine and the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, resort towns with bathing beaches, excellent ski resorts, and above all — New England’s famous fall foliage every autumn.
