The town of Springdale at the park's gates is considered a logistical and hospitality hub. Along the town's main boulevard – the Zion Park Boulevard, there is a series of accommodations that beautifully combine hotel, motel, and rural lodge.

Near the park, you'll find other towns where you can snag a place to stay at a usually much more budget-friendly rate than the hotels in Springdale.

4 Tips from Guy for a Perfect Stay in Zion National Park

Zion National Park is a relatively remote natural area, and if you're planning to explore it for more than a few hours, it's a good idea to find accommodation near the park. Most visitors to Zion National Park come for a day trip from Las Vegas. The vibrant gambling city of Nevada is a two-and-a-quarter-hour drive south of the park along the I-15.

  1. Lodges within the National Park – Throughout the park itself, both in Zion Canyon and its other parts, there are several active lodges where you can find accommodation. The lodges are full-fledged hotel facilities and of very good quality. The official lodge in the park is Zion National Park Lodge, located across from the Emerald Pools.
  2. Staying in Hotels and Motels in Springdale – The town of Springdale is the main gateway to the park and is home to the visitor center. Throughout the town, there's an abundance of hotels and motels ranging from one to three stars. The main road, Zion Park Boulevard, is packed with accommodations, restaurants, shops, and everything you need for a park visit.
  3. Hotels and Motels on Highway 15 – The most affordable motels and hotels in terms of price are in the small towns outside the park, like St. George and Washington on I-15. The drive from these towns near the Utah-Nevada border to the park itself is about an hour.
  4. When is the best time to visit Zion National Park? – Zion National Park is a desert area with an extreme continental climate. Summers in the park are very hot and dry, and winters are cold to freezing with a bit of snow (which rarely melts). The best seasons to hike in the park are spring and fall, when the weather is perfect in terms of temperature. In the summer, it's better to skip most of the longer hiking trails.
  5. Day trip to Zion Park from Las Vegas – The capital of leisure, gambling, entertainment, and resort hotels, Las Vegas is located a two-hour drive from the park. Staying in Las Vegas is an excellent option for visiting the park, especially if you only intend to enjoy the comfort of your car and not tackle the more challenging hiking trails of Zion Park.
