The Pacific Northwest of the United States is the perfect opposite of California to the south. Along the long coastline of the Pacific Ocean, from Oregon in the south all the way to the Bering Strait at the tip of Alaska, there is plenty to see and do on the colder and mistier side of the tourism map.
Seattle, in the state of Washington, is the central city in the region; it is where grunge culture was born and is still associated with a cool, unique American vibe. Its neighbor, Vancouver, just across the Canadian border, is considered one of the highest-quality cities to live in worldwide, along with Portland to the south.
Above these cities rise the magnificent peaks of the Cascade Range, crowned by the stunning Mount Rainier, home to a very popular national park. Crater Lake National Park, located in southern Oregon, is also a unique natural landmark. Further north, Alaska is a unique territory and a rare destination for cruises among glaciers and especially wild natural expanses.
