Los Angeles is the gateway to California and one of the most important cities in the USA. The capital of American culture and cinema is a large and vibrant city with an expansive urban area stretching south and north of the Santa Monica Mountains, on the Pacific coast. The metropolis offers a wealth of major attractions such as Hollywood, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica, as well as the Disneyland theme parks in Anaheim and Universal Studios Hollywood in the Valley. The legendary airport of Los Angeles, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), is one of the largest and most important airports in all of North America. It is considered the second busiest airport in the US (after Atlanta's airport) and the third busiest worldwide. Affectionately called LAX in popular culture, it is located near downtown Los Angeles, between Inglewood and Playa Del Rey Beach, right next to the 405 highway.

The travel distance from the airport to downtown, Hollywood, and Santa Monica is about half an hour (depending on traffic because the 405 is one of the most dreadful highways in the world during rush hours). LAX is excellently connected with every point across the US and the entire world, including direct flights from Ben Gurion or plenty of options for transfers in Europe.

John Wayne Airport

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is the second largest airport (by a huge margin) in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, after LAX. This airport serves Orange County and mainly its top attraction – the Disneyland Resort. It's located a twenty-minute drive south of Disney's theme parks in Anaheim.

John Wayne is well-connected with major airports on the West Coast of the USA and some major hubs in the Midwest and Atlantic Coast. There are also flights from airports in Canada and Mexico. This airport is a great solution for those wanting to primarily visit Disneyland rather than Los Angeles itself.
